Ted Brown - An Unwide Road review

Playfully morose and relentlessly self-reflective, LA based Ted Brown brings you the music that casts orthodoxly behaved-, yet inventively spirited lights on sonic domains showing equal amount of polite compatibility with traveling sessions, stove-based private socialization and public bonfire events. What's not to like out of the three? At surface level inspection, the disc dares to summon and present extremely wide volumetrics in its generic behavior, mapping out all key segments of intensity of the timeless acoustic guitar charms - although, as you will see and hear, decisive favor is observable in the context of ultra-mellow "me and my guitar will make you FEEL!"-statements, the bulk of things to come on this tastefully paced and soberly presented full length.

Brown, luckily enough, does not satisfy easily via simply throwing guitar lesson 101 chords around, and, oftentimes manages to surprise/entertain the ears with thoughtful and muscular harmonic structures that invite all the superb anatomies known to women and men to revisit their inner images of what is possible with the utilization of "mere" moods. These moments truly are magical, and are showcased primarily in the pre-climax segments of track number 4, "Blue and Grey" : a perfect example of Brown's adept inner image of chords and how to throw those around like they mean a thing OR two. Because they do, you know. Listen to this song from 1:15: it is like a badass Nirvana song, now arranged to an odd retirement home intensity, for which it submits for entertainment. We Steal Flyers is a massively acoustic country duo with thorough touring experience under their belt, as the cohesive unit plays 250 shows a year, and is after an extensive US based sonic campaign as you read this review.

The music is gentle, well suited to ease your craving for orthodox country patterns and fascinations, and is resonated with true love towards the style with not many - if any - unwanted surprises to litter the crystal clear agenda. Boundaries are respected throughout, and the reoccurring relative lack of percussive instruments - there are tasteful exceptions - certainly gives an especially intimate tint to the overall listening experience. Bud Buckley and Jax Resto are BudaRest, a multitalented songwriting/performing duo transplanted from New York to southwest Florida. Jax has been a performer all of her life from her days in school to her college years majoring in dance performance at Queens College. This led to her years with Ringling Brothers Circus as a dancer and as an aerialist. Following her circus career, Jax became a wife and mother, a rock drummer, a song writer and a novelist. She is still very active in all of these roles. Her band Kore played at the NY Mamapalooza festival in 2010. A Year later she formed Female Band Invasaion (FBI)

Bud performed all his life in a quite different arena. He was a multi award winning journalist/PR director with the teachers’ union in New York while at the same time teaching. The writing kept him in the eye of teachers across the nation and the teaching put him on stage everyday for a tough and demanding audience. They demanded attention and they demanded he play his guitar and sing while teaching all the elementary school subjects. Bud eventually studied fingerstyle guitar with well known Hudson Valley guitarist, singer songwriter and music educator Helen Avakian. He also studied voice with successful pop star Leslie Ritter of the Amy and Leslie duo. He as recorded four CDs, three produced by award winning songwriter Helen Avakian in Woodstock, NY with well seasoned studio pros like Scott Petito, Deni Bonet, Ross Rice, Dan Hickey and others. He is consistently highly rated by Reverbnation and is their number one singer/songwriter in all of western Florida.

Together, Jax and Bud form the songwriting/recording team of BudaRest, and have discovered that a pace of a song a week is something they can do and have done. At that pace, however, they have to slow down and save time for arranging and recording. A full collection of songs is in the making for release later this year. And probably every year.

Many of these songs will find their way into eBook novels penned by Jax. Music video production is also high on their project schedule.

Jason Garriotte is the premiere mastermind behind the Chords of Truth enterprise, a psychedelic acoustic project immensely-, smartly-, and relentlessly focused on existentialist observations of all possible reality surfaces, fixated primarily on the one you will have the chance to absorb the project's debut EP through.

The delivery does not only claim that it happens to be an acoustic (guitar) project, it equally takes the liberty to rely solely on the combination of charisma contained in the organic connection between the timeless ringing of the acoustic guitar and between the sung human words. "Angie, 'zat Sunday Mornin'???" Think about a type of exigent bonfire music, which is primordially psychedelic in its rhetorical nature, and, in its musical character.
